Antibody Engineering

Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries and in vitro human lymph node cocultures for generating antigen-specific B-cells. We are seeking a Senior Scientist – Principal Scientist, Antibody Engineering to join our Antibody Screening group. As part of the Prellis Therapeutic Antibody Engineering team, you will report to the Director of Antibody Screening with accountability for engineering of development candidates, leading with a fully collaborative spirit, drive, enterprise mindset, and a team-centric and inspiring attitude. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, protein engineering, and a deep understanding of antibody and protein structure-function relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the design and development of novel antibody therapeutics, focusing on enhancing specificity, affinity, stability, and manufacturability

Lead the conceptualization, design, and cloning of innovative bispecific or similar multi-specific antibody formats, including dual targeting and crosslinking capabilities

Lead the construction of expression vectors and the production of reagent proteins and recombinant antibodies in various systems (e.g., mammalian, bacterial, insect)

Utilize computational tools and modeling techniques to predict and optimize antibody-antigen interactions and structural stability

Analyze experimental data and present findings to cross-functional teams and senior management.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field with a strong academic record. Outstanding M.S.candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in antibody engineering or a related area, with a strong understanding of antibody and early drug discovery and development, along with a proven track record of successful project leadership and innovation

In-depth understanding of antibody structure-function relationships, protein engineering strategies, and therapeutic antibody discovery and development

Expertise in molecular cloning, protein expression, and purification

Rigorous scientist with strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

You have demonstrated the ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline
