Sr. Research Associate - Antibody Purification
The heart of Prellis Bio’s strategy is the combination of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning, biology at scale and next gen antibody discovery that address long-standing industry-wide problems in the drug development pipeline. Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print human lymph node organoids enabling the rapid & diverse discovery of human antibody therapeutic candidates for a range of applications. To drive this forward, we are assembling an incredible team of discovery biologists, computational scientists, and protein scientists who want to make a difference to this important problem.
- Position Overview:
Seeking a Research Associate/ Associate Scientist/ Scientist to join our team focused on small-scale expression & purification of antibodies for assay applications. The role uses recombinant expression platforms and requires experience in Protein A workflows, laboratory automation, and electronic recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform small-scale Expi293 transient expressions.
•Support automated expression and harvest workflows.
•Execute small-scale purification workflows for antibodies, fusion proteins, and bispecifics.
•Purify proteins using Protein A/G, IEX, and SEC methods.
•Conduct buffer exchange, desalting, and concentration.
•Operate KingFisher systems; ÄKTA experience preferred.
•Use Lunatic, KingFisher, and other automation tools for high-throughput workflows.
•Implement and optimize small-scale automated protocols.
•Run SDS-PAGE and LabChip assays for protein quality.
•Maintain accurate ELN documentation.
•Communicate results and support cross-team workflows.
Qualifications:
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in life sciences (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in antibody purification or protein biochemistry.
- Strong experience in purification of antibodies, fusion proteins, and/or bispecifics.
- Hands-on experience with buffer exchange, desalting, and protein concentration methods.
- Proficiency in SDS-PAGE and common protein analytics.
- Experience with Lunatic, KingFisher, and ÄKTA systems (preferred).
- Experience with Expi293 small-scale transient expression.
- Demonstrated experience with small-scale automation in protein expression or purification workflows.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

Base Salary:
$77,000 - $104,000 per year
